MN Community Collaboration on Viral Hepatitis ECHO
Hello Community Partners and Health Care Providers! Are you interested in helping eliminate Hepatitis C in our community?
Our ECHO initiative, MN Community Collaboration on Viral Hepatitis ECHO, is focused on infectious disease prevention, testing, and treatment among at-risk populations. This project ECHO will emphasize HCV elimination in Minnesota by facilitating collaboration between specialists in viral hepatitis and community partners such as community health clinics, syringe service programs, community mental health centers, drug treatment centers, and homeless shelters.
The goals of this project ECHO include:
• Improving HCV care statewide, with an emphasis on tailoring ECHO sessions to fit unique geographical, cultural, and community needs.
• Eliminating viral HCV by developing networks of care that incorporate clinical and non-clinical collaborators.
• By way of ECHO sessions, identifying and removing barriers to testing, linkage to care, and treatment for HCV and other infectious diseases.
• Developing a shared repository of treatment guidelines and other resources.
• Promoting screening and disease prevention through vaccination and other harm reduction strategies.
• Advancing culturally competent and focused care with special focus on those most impacted by HCV, including American Indian and unhoused persons.
ECHO sessions are held virtually the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 12:05-1:05pm, central time. Our program is approved to offer continuing education credits to Physicians, PAs, Nurses, Social Workers, and Pharmacists.
