In the News MNACHC Members and Staff Featured in Minnesota Physician Magazine's "100 Influential Minnesota Health Care Leaders"

Every four years, the Minnesota Physician magazine names “100 Influential Minnesota Health Care Leaders” based on nominations from the publication’s readers.  According to the publication, the list represents “a cross section of the breadth and depth of Minnesota’s health care delivery system, from clinical care to health care policy to administration and management.”   Among those recognized include Rita Plourde, Dr. Patrick Rock, and Rhonda Degelau! Many Faces of Community Health Conference 2016

The Many Faces Conference will be held November 3-4, 2016. Our 2016 theme is Community Centered Care and the People We Serve. Join us to learn about the impact of health care reforms, ways to advance health equity, and how to apply best practices to the delivery of primary care to the disadvantaged. In the News Northpoint Health and Wellness Plans for Expansion

The StarTribune includes an article on the upcoming redevelopment of the Plymouth/Penn intersection in north Minneapolis.  Thor Construction, the state’s largest minority-owned business, and Hennepin County have partnered to make this project possible, with Hennepin County contributing $67 million to fund a major expansion of NorthPoint’s campus.  The project also includes plans for a new 4-story building to house Thor Construction’s headquarters, street-level retail space, and a new parking deck. The project is expected to revitalize the corridor, bring new employment opportunities to the neighborhood, and expand access to NorthPoint’s services for the growing numbers of people seeking care. Read the story here.

In the News Former Health Center Patient Returns as Pharmacist

Kim Tran first encountered Community University Health Care Center as a small child in the early 1990s when her family immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam. Her experiences at CUHCC inspired her to pursue a career in health care: she is now a PharmD and on staff at CUHCC. Community Health Center Job Openings in Minnesota FQHCs

National Health Service Corp - NHSC Students to Service Program Will Open in Fall of 2016

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP) provides up to $120,000 to medical students (MD and DO) in their final year of school in return for a commitment to provide primary health care full time for at least 3 years or half time for at least 6 years at an approved NHSC site in a Health Professional Shortage Area of greatest need.
